Stuart started his career working closely with those in need when managing temporary accommodation in the homeless sector at Fife Council. This then led to him working on large-scale property projects within the private sector.
With a passion for helping people, Stuart has been involved in various charitable events over the years, raising thousands of pounds to assist those in need. Stuart has continued his enthusiasm for charitable work in his current voluntary role as Non-Executive Chairman of Charis Foundation: a multi award winning not-for-profit counselling organisation.
In his role as Head of Care Development at Safe As Houses, Stuart has the opportunity to blend his Public and Private Sector experience. This enables an overarching view of the current crisis facing the Housing sector currently, and marries the two backgrounds perfectly.
Stuart has had the pleasure of sitting on the Local Government Chronicle panel, and delivering seminars at sector specific events. This is a passion for Stuart to share what he has learned over the years and discuss in detail, the solutions that Safe As Houses can bring.
In his spare time, Stuart spends as much time as he can with his family, indoctrinating both his daughter and son in the ways of Liverpool Football Club. Beach and forest walks with the family and trusted Border Terrier make up the majority of weekend life.
