Karen Beydoun

Head of Services - Elderly & Extra Care

Karen joins Safe As Houses after 13 years with Anchor, the UK's largest specialist housing provider for older people. She first joined us as Development Manager and is now Head of Elderly & Extra Care Services.

During her time at Anchor, Karen held several roles including Registered Care Manager for a mixed tenure extra care facility in Yorkshire, before moving into Compliance and Health & Safety for new developments. Over a period of time, she built upon her specialist knowledge and then joined the Construction & Development team, where she managed several new build projects from start to finish.

The size of Anchor as an organisation enabled Karen to work across the country on a diverse portfolio of projects including two high profile village developments, luxury care homes, leasehold rented and shared ownership properties. She was also part of the team involved with five new nationwide sites acquired through a new partnership with McCarthy Stone to deliver 482 new affordable homes.

As a Yorkshire born and bred woman, Karen loves to be outdoors, especially by the sea. Horses have been a huge part of her life ever since she was young and now, she is fortunate enough to have two herself. These give her a great reason to get out in the fresh air, whatever the weather.

Karen’s other passion in her life is travelling. She enjoys eating local food and sampling local wines when she’s travelling. Despite extensive trips around the world, she still has an incredible wanderlust and has a mile-long list of places still to visit.
