Clare MacFarlane

Marketing Executive

Clare grew up around her family's development and construction business. At a young age already, Clare was passionate about Graphic and Interior design. Upon leaving school, this led to a natural progression into studying Design at College.

During the following summer, she followed another calling and ventured into the world of childcare by working at a nursery. Clare worked within this environment for 17 years, going from support worker to Early Childcare Practitioner and eventually Assistant Manager.

Whilst working within the childcare sector, Clare had two children of her own and decided that after 17 years in the same career it was time for a change. She started her own commercial cleaning business that specialised in industrial carpet cleaning. Working within this industry, Clare had the opportunity to clean renovated properties ready for sale/rent, which progressed into her undertaking her own renovation projects.

Working on these renovation projects gave Clare the experience she needed to take on the role within Safe As Houses as Central Scotland Project Manager. In this role Clare successfully identified and delivered several profitable residential projects on time and on budget.

As Safe As Houses re-focused more on care projects, Clare embarked on a new role as Marketing Executive. Within the marketing team Clare’s keen eye for detail had become invaluable, coordinating campaign activities and producing supportive materials and assets for our teams. Now working directly with other teams, Clare is leading on marketing related areas of project coordination.

In her spare time, Clare enjoys spending time with her family, exercising and going on long walks. Clare has a passion for Irish Dancing, having danced when she was younger and her daughter now shares this passion. Clare loves to travel exploring new destinations abroad and has a newfound love for travelling around Scotland in a camper van.
